Rampur is an Indian Single Malt Whisky, hand-crafted and aged in the foothills of the Himalayas by the pioneers of Indian spirits using 75 years of distillation expertise.
With polar opposite climate conditions throughout the year giving Rampur an added dimension and depth, groundwater provided by the Himalayas is combined with North Indian 6-row barley and yeast in traditional copper pot stills in the oldest distillery in India. The distillation process is purposefully slow, allowing the spirit to imbibe a unique fruity character whilst preserving the individual flavours of the distillate, which smells like lychees.
Non-chill filtered, this impressive single malt is then matured in the foothills of the Himalayas, at a significantly faster pace than tradition Scotch or Irish Whiskies, benefitting from a smooth mellow taste with a long lasting finish that embodies the soul of Rampur.
“Our aim is to create a valuable customer experience, consistent with the company’s brand assurance. We are adding a new step to this wonderful journey with the jewels of Rampur Indian Single Malt. Let these gifts of the Royal Heritage give you a 15 Gun Salute!”
Dr. Lalit Khaitan - Chairman & Managing Director“We believe in excellence and courage to take up endless challenges; we break out of our comfort zone to comfort your soul. Our passion to bring our brands’ promise to life has reaped us global success and recognition. We invite you to be a part of the Rampur saga and indulge in the pleasures of pure perfection.”
Mr. Abhishek Khaitan - Managing DirectorInteresting Facts
Rampur is Part of Radico Khaitan - both the largest Indian alcoholic beverage company and exporter of alcoholic beverages from India
Rampur currently have two distilleries - the first at Rampur (on the foothills of the Himalayas on the Indogangetic Plain at 288m altitude), and the second at Rangabat - however a third is currently in development
- The Rampur unit is self-sufficient in its fuel and power requirements. The distillery complies with the zero discharge concept set up by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
- All their whiskies start maturation in American Oak Ex-Bourbon casks before being finished using a variety of options from former PX Sherry casks to those used previously for Indian Cabernet Sauvignon
- The extremes of the local climate vary from +43 to 0 degrees in from the height of summer to the depths of winter and average humidity is around 70% - all of which has an impact on evaporation (and the Angels' Share), however Rampur use this to their advantage to develop their distinctive smooth mellow taste and long lasting finish
- Keen to share the true 'Indian-ness' of their spirits with the rest of the world, demand has proved high already for their first releases, with their initial release of 'Select' single malt sold out
